Conn's Catering & Events is a part of the Conn's Hospitality Group Incorporated collection. Catering and events have been apart of the Conn family's life since 1948, when Leroy P. Conn opened his first restaurant. Know by his friends and the community as Roy, Mr. Conn began pursuing his restaurant/ food service career in a small facility without a kitchen. Roy did all his cooking at home in the morning, then he would load it up on a public bus and ride downtown to his restaurant. Roy would work long hard days and he eventually operated 5 restaurants in downtown Springfield, IL.

Building a reputation as a considerate, honest, genuine, and a hard working businessman, Roy was approached to operate concession stands at the IL STATE FAIR grounds in the early 1960's. Again, Roy's determination to deliver a quality product in a friendly manor lead to more and more opportunities. With the help of his sons, Court and Brent Conn, Roy operated 6 large concession on the Fair grounds.

With the decline in the downtown in the early 1980, Roy and Frances sold their properties in downtown Springfield, IL. They made a hard decision to leave their beloved downtown for a location in the county in 1983. At which time, Roy decide to retire from the restaurant life and focus solely on off-premise catering.

In 1985 another charter began for the family business, Roy and Frances' eldest son, Court Conn purchased the operation. Being young and just as ambitious as his father, Court took the business to new heights. In 1997, with the help of his wife, Karen, Court open a Bed and Breakfast on the edge of downtown Springfield, IL. Doing his best to get back into his beloved downtown, the ideal property took years to find. The Inn at 835 Historic Hotel & Spa has evolved since opening day, but the Conn's are hands on, on a daily basis.

Today, Court and Karen are exploring the potential of venturing back into the restaurant business, but with a twist..... You will have to keep checking the blog for the updates.

Many many people were upset over that money grabbing issue that took place. People are being laid off, and the waste of $$ for that project! I will be at city hall to fight it if you ask for money
